Arkessa to build relationship with Pachube platform London and Cambridge, March 29 2011: Remote connectivity firm Arkessa is supporting Pachube’s Internet of Things Hackathon, to be held on April 8-9 in London, UK.

Timed to mark global ‘Internet of Things’ day the Pachube International Hackathon is an open invitation to developers, designers, makers, mixers, mashers, tinkerers, philosopher-mechanics and sales engineers to come together in helping to define an internet of things, and to spend 24 hours joining absolutely anything to any thing. For the event, Arkessa is supplying a small pile of GPRS modems and routers, each equipped and enabled to access services via the Pachube platform. These will be available to extend and share ideas through the Pachube and Arkessa remote internet communities. Collaboration between Arkessa and Connected Environments, owner of the Pachube platform, is ensuring that there is a simple way to create a Pachube feed using GPRS and 3G connections to remote devices. It now means that anyone can connect anything, wherever it is, via the Pachube infrastructure. While building a wireless connectivity solution for the Pachube platform, it was apparent that both organisations share a vision and many values. This has encouraged a closer relationship, details of which will be announced at the hackathon. Paul Green, Arkessa’s director of technology and marketing said: ”We’re excited to be part of the Pachube hackathon. We enjoy working with Connected Environments and we’re looking forward to announcing details about our joint aspirations for the future.” Usman Haque, CEO Connected Environments and founder of Pachube said: “The hackathon is the place for anyone who wants to build on their understanding of the internet of things. They can investigate what is possible and gain real understanding of the value of connectivity. We can’t wait to see what can be built and we’re looking forward to announcing news with Arkessa.” To learn more, and to find out how to attend the event, go to: http://community.pachube.com/iot_hackathon
