Tamglass order backlog record high 0n 31 december 2000

TAMGLASS´ORDER BACKLOG RECORD HIGH 0N 31 DECEMBER 2000 Tamglass Ltd, a Kyro Group company, had a record high order backlog on 31 December 2000 with a value of FIM 380 million (64 MEUR), which was 85 % higher than in the corresponding period last year. The aggregate value of the received orders during the year 2000 was 594 million marks (100 MEUR). The demand of safety glass production lines and machines increased in the year 2000 on every market area of Tamglass. The share of received orders from Europe and Middle East was approximately half of the total value. The number of received orders was growing most strong in the Far East. The sales is also increasing in the Middle East and South America. The high level of order backlog at the end of the fiscal year secures a continuing favorable development for Tamglass´ growth also in the year 2001. Kyro Corporation has previously announced that the net sales for Tamglass in the year 2000 is expected to grow by more than one-fifth and the operating result to improve significantly over the year 1999. The net sales for Tamglass was in the year 1999 approximately 75 million euros. The other figures of Tamglass will be announced in the financial statement of Kyro Corporation on 8 February.
