Former global tea marketing director for Unilever laucnhes the ultimate breakfast tea

Make your Christmas morning even more special with The Ultimate Stocking Filler

A former global tea marketing director for Unilever has left her Lipton and PG Tips days behind to launch an exciting new sustainable tea venture.

Susan Gregory, from Balham, South London, has launched The Ultimate Breakfast Tea just in time for Christmas.

The tea comes from a Rainforest Alliance* certified farm in Rwanda, one of the finest black tea producing countries in the world.  The copper coloured full-flavoured brew is great with milk and is an affordable luxury to be enjoyed at leisure - perfect for the festive season.

Tea lovers can savour the tea even more, knowing that 10 pence from every purchase will go towards www.gorillas.org to help protect the mountain gorillas who roam the Parc National des Volcans

Susan says: “We called it The Ultimate Breakfast Tea because we feel it delivers everything a tea connoiseur needs for a memorable experience.  As well as supporting an endangered species, the tea is delicious and the packaging is environmentally friendly – to the extent we’re using the latest compostable material for the transparent pyramid teabags.  We also think people will fall in love with our beautiful branding**.”

Following The Ultimate Breakfast Tea will be a range of Ultimate teas to meet the expanding tastes of British tea connoiseurs.

A limited quantity of tins will be available from 28 November 2011.  Susan is now taking advance orders online for Christmas with each pack selling at an introductory price of £4.95 + p&p.  She will be looking for stockists in the New Year.

Susan Gregory has spent most of her working life marketing beverages for big corporates. From duty free gin to Piper-Heidsieck Champagne to Nescafe Original coffee to PG Tips and Lipton Yellow Label, Susan seems to have done a lot of drinking in a very short period of time

Susan left her job as Global Category Marketing Director for Tea at Unilever in November 2009 to set up her own business. After considering a number of options, she followed the Lord Sugar school of ‘do what you know best’ and decided to do some exciting things she’d always wanted to do in tea but that big companies aren’t set up for.

A little idea nagged away and slowly came to life. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a really good cup of breakfast tea? A breakfast tea to take time over. A breakfast tea that’s a bit more special that works with milk but isn’t called something complicated or obscure. Real tea... like real coffee. And one that’s good for the environment too.

It took a while. Brokers in East Africa wanted Susan to import [literally] tonnes of tea without tasting it first. Packaging suppliers wanted enormous minimum runs and extensive lead time.  But bit by bit, things came together and The Ultimate Breakfast Tea was formed.
