Give your radiators some TLC and make some savings...

A market leading UK manufacturer is urging homeowners to give their radiators some tender loving care in support of National Radiator Day on 1 October 2012.

Groundbreaking magnetic filtration technology, invented by ADEY Professional Heating Solutions, could help homeowners boost the efficiency of their central heating systems, reduce energy bills and rid radiators of cold spots.

The National Radiator Day initiative, launched by manufacturer Joulesave, aims to highlight the importance of good radiator health and draw attention to how easy and cost-effective it can be for households to save money and get the most from their home heating.

ADEY’s MagnaClean® filters provide ongoing protection against the damaging effects of black iron oxide sludge that builds up in all heating systems and radiators causing noisy pipework, radiator cold spots, low heat levels, slow operation, leaking valves and ultimately the breakdown of the system.

ADEY’s Marketing and Communications Director Haimish Mead says: “While it’s a bit of fun, it’s actually a really good initiative with an important message because it brings benefits and savings for homeowners and the environment.

“Sludge build-up is the biggest threat to central heating systems. Our MagnaCleanse flushing process removes virtually all suspended black iron oxide from the system in just one pass. A VibraClean tool agitates the radiators removing the stubborn build-up of sludge which is then flushed through the system to be collected and removed by the RapidFlush filter.

“Once the system’s been flushed, a MagnaClean filter should be installed to provide ongoing protection. This will ensure homeowners not only have a more efficient system with hot radiators this winter, but for many more to come. It’s the best TLC you can give your heating system.”

Research shows that adopting effective magnetic filtration could cut heating energy consumption by up to 6% a year in a typical three-bedroom household as well as reducing carbon emissions up to 250kg annually. It could also help extend the operational life of a boiler way beyond the industry accepted life span of 12-15 years.
