INNOVATIVE MANUFACTURERS TO SHOWCASE A VARIETY OF REFRIGERATION SOLUTIONS AT THE 2015 TCS&D SHOW

Visitors to this year’s TCS&D exhibition will see four different solutions to temperature control in vehicles courtesy of the industry’s leading equipment manufacturers.
The largest stand at the show, which takes place on 16th and 17th September at the Peterborough Arena, will be manned by the Schmitz Cargobull team who will be demonstrating their own-brand refrigeration unit designed specifically to fit their state-of-the-art reefer trailer, the S.KO Cool Executive.
The unit, which is manufactured in Germany, has attracted significant interest in the UK since its launch last year as customers who are used to relying on Schmitz Cargobull for trailers, running gear, floor, chassis and body construction can now buy the company’s fridge units with the same expectation of quality and reliability.
All units are equipped with Schmitz Cargobull’s unique TrailerConnect Interface (TCI) – sophisticated telemetry which provides unparalleled levels of monitoring for a refrigerated trailer. The full telemetry system also monitors brake pad wear, tyre pressures, refrigeration unit fuel level and has coupling sensing as well as full global positioning. The unit remains in constant contact with Schmitz Cargobull’s European service centre in Germany, the connection means drivers and transport managers can be alerted to any potential issues before they become a problem, and then advised on where to find their nearest service centre.
Also exhibiting at the show is commercial vehicle specialists VMS Group – the UK’s sole distributor of the Alex Original range of transport refrigeration systems.
The business, which has a specialist refrigeration division, caters for all sizes of vehicles, and has a number of strong partnerships with major supermarket home delivery fleets.
Following a successful trial, VMS Refrigeration Ltd is now providing a new twin evaporator system for popular wholesaler Booker, which involves fitting separate evaporators for chilled and frozen compartments allowing accurate temperature control of each.
VMS Refrigeration’s team of mobile manufacturer-trained refrigeration technicians are available nationwide, providing a rapid response service to ensure customers’ fleets are maintained to the highest standards.
Another innovative manufacturer attending the show is Eistechnik, a Loughborough-based business that will demonstrate its award-winning eutectic refrigeration system.
Developed over eight years, Eistechnik is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional transport refrigeration systems and is available exclusively with bodywork from Jackson Coachworks.
It is based around the principle of latent heat – similar to how ice-packs are used in lunch boxes.
Translated into commercial transport, the principle is largely the same. While the unit is static it is plugged in and frozen down to temperature. Once complete, the unit is unplugged, and departs for its working operation, meaning the system requires no power during operation so makes no noise. Eistechnik uses a semi-solid gel which will never leak onto product, and can withstand repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
They will be joined by a team from GAH Refrigeration who will showcase their powerful yet fuel efficient refrigeration systems.
GAH’s specialist systems, which blend sympathetically with the aesthetics of vehicles, have been developed specifically for home delivery fleets. The lightweight systems offer simultaneous heat, cool and freeze functions that can maintain any temperature between -25°C and 25°C in dual compartment vehicles.
GAH has years of experience in the requirements of the direct drive refrigeration market in vans, box bodies or multi-compartment multi-temperature vehicles. They design, manufacture and maintain systems throughout the UK and specialist technicians will be on hand to understand visitors’ specific vehicle and operation requirements.
