Financial services provider Teachers Assurance is proud to announce its tenth consecutive year supporting Julia’s House, Dorset’s only hospice dedicated to helping children with life-limiting conditions. Over the past decade, Julia’s House has grown close to the hearts of staff at Teachers Assurance, resulting in a total of over £10,500 raised and donated.

Humbled by the charity’s life-changing support and passionate team of volunteers and carers, the Bournemouth-based staff at Teachers Assurance have continually pledged their time and money to the cause, participating in numerous fundraising events from bake sales and dress-down days, to popular staff raffles and charitable clothing donations. Last year the company’s fundraising reached new heights, when over £2,000 was raised by those taking part in the Bournemouth Marathon Festival.

Laura Bentham, PR and Events Team Leader at Teachers Assurance, comments on the company’s dedication to the charity: “2015 marks the tenth consecutive year that Teachers Assurance staff have chosen to support Julia’s House. When we first began supporting the charity back in 2005, Julia’s House consisted of a few dedicated carers providing home based care. It has since grown into a strong team of over 70 nurses and carers, supporting around 100 children both at their Dorset hospice and at home.”

“Julia’s House receives very little government funding and instead relies on vital donations from the community. It is for this reason we are immensely proud of our staff’s charitable endeavours and were pleased by the recent news that the charity has plans to open a second hospice in Wiltshire to extend their valuable work across the region.”
