Tecnomen will increase the capacity of the operator's voice mail system to accommodate the strong growth in the subscriber base for Telekom Cellular, which is expected to exceed 1,000,000 users before the end of the year. Tecnomen has delivered telecommunications systems to three of the country's five mobile telecom-operators. Tecnomen is also expanding the capacity of an existing prepaid system for another Malaysian mobile operator, now receiving a thousand new subscribers for its service every day. The expansions delivered during the summer and fall are worth over FIM 20 million. -In order to further strengthen our market position, we are also establishing a competence centre in Malaysia. The Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status granted by the Malaysian Multimedia Development Corporation will support the development of this centre, says Tecnomen's President and CEO Vesa Helkkula. MSC status is granted to IT and data communication companies operating in Malaysia who are playing an important role in developing technological innovations and providing employment for local experts. One of the major criteria for granting this designation is that the MSC status company commences product development locally. Its core products are messaging systems, wireless Internet solutions, and prepaid and paging systems. Founded in 1978, Tecnomen has delivered such systems to over 50 customers.
