New training courses to support the bioscience sector
Teesside University’s National Horizons Centre is supporting the growth of the UK bioscience industry though a new series of bespoke training courses.
The NHC, a national centre of excellence for the bioscience and healthcare industries, has developed the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses in conjunction with industry as part of its mission to upskill the sector through the provision of relevant skills training.
The CPD courses, which are a mixture of online and in-person training, can be specially tailored to meet the specific needs of the organisation requesting them.
Staff from the NHC will work to identify skills and training needs before developing a curriculum of learning to suit the requirements of the business.
In particular the online training option which has now been developed by the NHC means bioscience professionals can complete the training at their own pace in line with the demands of their personal and professional commitments.
Topics covered as part of the new series of CPD courses include:
- The Drug product 101 Series
- Back to Basics for Bioprocessing
- Bioreactors
- The Biotherapeutics Landscape
- Critical Quality Attributes
- Host Cell Protein Clearance
Further courses looking are also being developed teaching a range of different topics including emerging technologies, the manufacturing mindset, and RNA-based therapies.
Daniel Shenton, Head of Continuous Professional Development at the NHC, said: “We are delighted to be able to roll out this new selection of CPD courses in 2024.
“Each course has been designed in close collaboration with industry to ensure that all the training is relevant and will bring real value to an organisation.”
“We are particularly pleased with our new online offer which offers a flexible learning solution and allow learners to manage their learning around their daily demands.”
“We work closely with all of our clients to ensure that the training we provide meets their exact requirements to support the growth of their business.”
Our CPD can delivered at the National Horizons Centre or at your business premises. For more information visit: https://www.tees.ac.uk/minisites/nhc/cpd.cfm
