HP and Cisco Suppliers to Tele1 Europe's Nordic Broadband Network Tele1 Europe and Hewlett Packard have signed a strategic collaboration agreement. Hewlett Packard will be the main supplier of the service platform for Tele1 Europe's Nordic broadband network. Acting as subcontractor, Cisco will supply the network equipment. The agreement spans over a three-year period and is valued at approximately 300 MSEK. For Hewlett Packard the assignment entails the total responsibility for the installation and operation start-up of the service platform with the adherent data network equipment that is part of Tele1 Europe's broadband network to the customer. We chose a co-operation with Hewlett Packard due to the fact that they are far advanced in regards to the development of next generation data and Internet service. Cisco, the supplier of the network equipment, is world- class within their field of expertise," says Ivar Strömberg, Chief Executive Officer for Tele1 Europe. Our cooperation with Tele1 Europe is a part of our efforts to meet the requirements for the next generation's broadband services. Tele1 Europe has everything needed to succeed, a modern infrastructure for access that supports all types of data and telecommunication," says Mats Oretorp, Marketing Manager at HP Datorsystem. During the first quarter this year, Tele1 Europe expects to have already connected its first broadband customers. This will mark the starting date for our broadband services to companies in the Nordic Region, based on fiber all the way to the end customer. This makes Tele1 Europe unique since we are aiming to own the local high-speed networks ourselves and purchase the other segments of our Nordic network from other network owners," explains Ivar Strömberg.
