Tele1 Europe and Stokab expand the broadband network in central Stockholm An extensive agreement has been signed between Tele1 Europe and Stokab for the continued expansion of Tele1 Europe's broadband network in central Stockholm. According to the agreement, Stokab will install fiber for Tele1 Europe in nine areas, which combined, cover large areas of central Stockholm. The time frame is very aggressive and will enable Tele1 Europe, at a much faster rate than its competitors, to begin connecting business customers to the broadband network. Through our agreement with Stokab, we gain a major advantage on our competitors. We establish an extensive broadband network in a short space of time based on a dependable time frame. This means that we can more quickly start our broadband services and can connect our data- and telephony customers to the fast high-speed networks", says Ivar Strömberg at Tele1 Europe Holding. The agreement is valid for 20 years and gives Tele1 Europe an exclusive broadband network in central Stockholm. Stokab will supply Tele1 Europe with fiber to the already buried plastic pipes and dig new sites for new pipes. The intention is to cause minimal disturbance to the city's appearance. Tele1 Europe's broadband network covers central Stockholm in nine redundancy rings. It will be possible to automatically connect all business intense real estate situated within the ring's field of coverage. The fact that the network is built using network redundancy means that traffic can be directed in two directions and thereby is less vulnerable to disruptions and break-down.
