Tele1 Europe and Sweden's County Administrative Boards sign telephony agreement 19 of Sweden's 21 county administrative boards are now signing agreements with Tele1 Europe (NASDAQ: TEUR Stockholm Stock Exchange: TEUR) to provide their directly-connected telephony services. The recommendation to change telephony services to Tele1 Europe has been made by a common forum of all Sweden's county administrative boards. A thorough decision-making process preceded the signing of this agreement where all the Swedish County Administrative Boards have been involved. The contract, which is worth about SEK 12 million, is based on a framework agreement, which the Swedish Agency for Administrative Development has entered into with Tele1Europe. Mats Domwall, Manager for IT Strategy for Sweden's County Administrative Boards, commented: - We obtained proposals from several telephone service providers, but none were able to combine cost efficiency with quality and to provide secure telephony solutions in the same way as Tele1 Europe. Our decision was also based on the openness, flexibility and expertise, which the company demonstrated during the contract negotiations. Tele1 Europe has the necessary flexibility and ability to adapt its telephony solutions to the unique requirements of each county administrative board. We are pleased to be working with a telephony service provider, which understands both the technical and commercial needs of an organisation that is as complex as ours. According to Mats Domwall, the fact that Tele1 Europe will be responsible for the direct telephony services is an important step in finding new co- ordination solutions for the county administrative boards. The next stage will include an overview of the requirements and solutions for mobile telephony. The county administrative boards are now only waiting for full number portability. Pelle Hjortblad, Managing Director of Tele1 Europe AB, said: - The fact that the county administrative boards in Sweden have chosen Tele1 Europe as their supplier of directly connected telephony services is incredibly important for us. We are now able to provide a major organisation with offices throughout the country with a high quality, flexible broadband-based telephony solution. We would also like the opportunity to develop our services in respect to mobile telephony and computing solutions." The contract of delivery is for two years with the option for a third year.
