Tele1 Europe Announces Senior Notes Offering Stockholm, December 9, 1999 - Tele1 Europe N. V , a rapidly growing, facilities-based, competitive provider of data, voice and Internet services in the Nordic market, today announced that it has agreed to issue 150 million Euro aggregate principal amount of 11 7/8% Senior Notes due 2009. The proceeds to the Company from the offering will be used to fund capital expenditures for the expansion of the Company's network and for acquisitions, in a manner consistent with the terms of the indentures governing our existing euro- and dollar-denominated Senior Notes issued in May 1999. Tele1 Europe is currently building broadband access networks in key cities in the Nordic market and the proceeds will be used to further accelerate this expansion. "This is another commitment from Tele1 Europe to build the fastest broadband network for data- internet- and voice-services in the Nordic market" , says Ivar Stromberg , Chief Executive Officer of Tele1 Europe. "We are stepping up our capital expenditures in three important areas; fibre networks in business areas in the key cities, DSL technology to expand the addressable broadband market further, and thirdly a more extended Nordic backbone network where we now have secured access to dark fibre to almost all major cities in the region.
