Tele1 Europe the only data- and telecommunications operator using Telia´s access network Tele1 Europe (TEUR) became the first data- and telecommunications operator to enter into an agreement with Telia concerning access rights for their access network and co-location. The new agreement means that Tele1 Europe can offer high-speed services on the internet to, in principle, all Swedish companies by combining Telia's access network with its own fibre network. The agreement also means that for the first time there will be greater competition in the market for advanced broadband services via DSL (copper network). By combining our directly connected fibre-optic network with Telia's access network, we can in principle supply all Swedish companies with high-speed services. Our strategy is to invest in our own high-speed fibre-optic network in areas with many and large companies. Using DSL technology, we will also be able to offer a complete range of products and services to smaller and medium-sized companies throughout Sweden," says Anders Brismo Managing Director at Tele1 Europe AB. Tele1 Europe will launch the new services before the summer and will, together with Telia, be the only data and telecommunications operator in Sweden able to supply Swedish companies with DSL connections. We are of course pleased to provide access for Tele1 Europe. It also proves that attractive customer solutions can be put together using our access products as a base. There will no doubt be others in the future using our open access network," says Stefan Mokvist, sales manager at Telia Carrier & Networks. The access network was one of the last remaining areas of the old th' telecommunications monopoly up until 15 March when Telia opened up its copper network to other players and full competition began in the market for the first time. th On 5 April, Tele1 Europe signed a similar agreement with the Norwegian company Telenor, and intends to establish other similar agreements in Denmark and Finland.
