Benima, Teleca’s business specialising in industrial IT and automation, has signed an agreement to receive by subscription 80 per cent, with an option to purchase the remaining 20 per cent, of the shares in the Danish company Lentech A/S, which has a staff of 10. The acquisition is part of Benima’s strategy to increase its market share in the Nordic region.

With its staff of 500 Benima is the Nordic region’s largest supplier-independent consulting company in the area of industrial IT and automation. Benima already has offices in Copenhagen and Randers in Denmark. The acquisition of Lentech A/S is not only part of Benima’s strategy to increase its market share in the Nordic region but also a way of increasing its overall presence in Europe. Together with the acquisition earlier this year of NewCon A/S the acquisition of Lentech strengthens Benima’s position as the leading automation consulting company in Denmark. Lentech has a firmly established network of customers, especially in the pharmaceutical and brewery industries. The company will be integrated with Benima’s current business activities in Denmark. “We’re very pleased about the acquisition of Lentech, which will help us strengthen our position in Denmark and contribute to improving our profits. Lentech’s profile is characterised by high quality and deep technical expertise that fits well with Benima’s strategy of taking on advanced projects for Danish industry,” says Per Magnusson, managing director of Benima Denmark. The company will be consolidated from and including 1 January 2005. The size of the acquisition is expected to have a limited positive effect on Teleca’s profits.
