Teleca and Symbian strengthens co-operation through US Symbian Competence Center

Teleca and Symbian strengthens co-operation through US Symbian Competence Center Today Teleca has been named a Symbian Competence Center in the United States. The appointment means that Teleca is further expanding its partnership with Symbian and its licensees with regard to the development of wireless technologies. The US is a fast growing market for Symbian OS, the world leading operating system for smartphones. A number of US-based mobile phone manufacturers are today developing, or are about to initiate development of, mobile phones based on Symbian OS. Through Teleca's US Symbian Competence Center these manufacturers can now get professional support locally. Teleca has already initiated the first assignments and are expecting an immediate increase in activities. Through its existing Symbian Competence Center's in Sweden and the UK, Teleca has been working closely with Psion and Symbian since 1994 to develop core components of Symbian OS, and has provided development services to a number of Symbian OS licensees worldwide. The addition of the Symbian Competence Center in the US further strengthens Teleca's Symbian OS service offering, including consultancy, bespoke application development, or complete managed delivery of all software aspects of Symbian OS phone development.
