To provide improved support and service to its customers in the region, and grow its business within the Obigo and Mobile Devices divisions, Teleca has established a local office in Beijing, China. Teleca’s Chinese customer base consists primarily of companies licensing Obigo®, the world-leading mobile phone application suite.

China, with a quarter of a billion mobile phone users, is the world’s largest and most expansive mobile phone market. It is also one of few markets with more mobile subscribers than fixed telephony subscribers. Operators sign up four to five million new mobile phone users each month, and mobile phone use is spreading at a brisk pace. A vital aim with Teleca’s new operation is to deliver better support and service to Obigo customers in China, which in turn will help these customers increase their business. Among Chinese firms licensing Obigo’s products are Beijing Capitel, Beijing TechFaith, Bird, Eastcom, Hisense, Huawei and Lenovo. The new Chinese office will also act as a platform for further expansion in the area. Establishing the operation is an essential step in strengthening Teleca’s position for the coming launch of 3G in China. ”China is a very significant market for us because of its size and rapid growth. With our local presence, we can better meet our current and future customers’ needs and provide faster, more efficient service,” said Joakim Nydemark, Managing Director for Obigo AB.
