The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has chosen Teleca’s test tool for MMS and IMPS for use at its TestFest events. The new product, which is being launched under the name ProTeller Lite, is a version of Teleca ProTeller that has been specially adapted for OMA members.

ProTeller Lite is used to ensure that multimedia messaging (MMS) and other mobile phone messaging solutions, including chat (IMPS), conform with OMA specifications. OMA TestFests are events at which a wide range of companies with products in the mobile phone industry meet to carry out interoperability tests to ensure that solutions from various companies work with each other in a mobile network. Based on Teleca’s long experience of developing message-handling services and applications for mobile phones, ProTeller Lite is a version of ProTeller with a reduced set of functions that has been specially developed for OMA members. Teleca predicts that the closer collaboration with the OMA will lead to more OMA members also choosing to licence the full version of ProTeller. “We’re very pleased that Teleca has produced ProTeller Lite, which we believe will raise the quality of our TestFest events,” says Howard Greenwell, director of interoperability programs at OMA. “ProTeller Lite is further evidence of our leading position in the conformity testing of mobile phone applications, which is an important and steadily growing part of mobile phone development. In consultation with the OMA we’ve produced a attractively priced and functional product offering,” says Christer Björk, Managing Director at Teleca Sweden South.
