Teleca receives order from natural gas company in Norway

Teleca receives order from natural gas company in Norway Benima, a member of the Teleca Group, has received a contract from Hamworthy KSE Norway to be responsible for electronics and instrumentation in a new natural gas plant in Norway. The new plant is a liquid natural gas (LNG) facility. In addition to developing electronics and instrumentation, the assignment comprises zone classification of the entire plant. Hamworthy KSE is one of the world's leading producers of loading equipment and systems used in the shipping and offshore sector. The company has chosen to outsource much of its electronic and instrumentation operations and has worked with Benima for a number of years. "We have had very good experience in earlier projects with Benima and we benefit greatly from the company's expertise and experience in the shipping and offshore sector," he says. The contract is one result of Benima's establishment of operations in Norway in 2001, when the company acquired a business with special expertise in the oil industry and the marine sector. "The market for distribution of gas in various forms is growing in Norway and is a priority area for Benima," Romar Ekbråten, President of Benima Norway, says. In the plant, which is being built by Gasnor AS, natural gas is converted to liquid form. As a result, the gas can be transported in tank trucks rather than in the pipeline network. This type of gas handling is becoming increasingly common and, in the opinion of experts, the market is expected to increase in the years immediately ahead.
