Teleca Subsidiary auSystems Establishes UK Operations
On January 1st, 2007, auSystems was established in the UK. The new office is located in Winchester outside London and adds another European IT, telecommunications and media consultancy company to the auSystems Group. The new auSystems subsidiary will leverage the growth potential of the UK region within Next Generation Networks (NGN).
The new subsidiary will provide end-to-end services, ICT expertise and project management bundled with solutions to the market. auSystems target customers are major telecom operators, network equipment providers and enterprises.
auSystems unites the previously separate communication and media services in a single, IP-based core network. This is accomplished by developing solutions for NGN, IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS), and Telecoms & Internet converged Services and Protocols (TISPAN). This brings consumers fixed and mobile telephony, broadband Internet access and television services delivered over the same infrastructure without the need for separate, interconnected networks.
The management team of auSystems Ltd, will be formed from executives from existing Teleca subsidiaries in Italy, Norway and the UK. The Managing Director will be Eivind Madsen, the former MD of auSystems Norway. All of the staff will come from the partnership between these auSystems subsidiaries. There will be 40 to 50 consultants in the new office initially, including subconsultants from Norway and Italy.
“The UK market has a growth potential for auSystems NGN services that could not have been utilised if we hadn’t been present in the UK,” says Eivind Madsen. “Our existing and new customers in the UK will experience a dedicated supplier providing high value-added services locally.”
The establishment of this subsidiary is a minor investment for the auSystems group and management expects it to be profitable by 2008.
