Teleca supplies strategic software and integration services to Arima

Arima Communications Corporation has developed its first smartphone. The phone, launched as the U308, is targeted at the European marketplace. As its software development partner, Arima chose Teleca to supply key software components and to provide systems integration services to help bring the phone to market.

Based on Symbian OS, the market leading operating system for smartphones adopted by several of the world’s leading handset manufacturers, and the UIQ open software platform licensed from UIQ Technology, the U308 integrates high end mobile technologies with a sleek, smart, and stylish design. The rotating 1.3 mega pixel camera with 4x digital zoom and flash, and its 2.66 inch 65,000 color Transflective TFT touch panel LCD screen, along with PC synchronization via built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology connectivity, all enable the U308 to efficiently assist its end users in the fast paced business world. Teleca has had a leading role in the development of the phone including supplying and integrating its own PC Connectivity suite and Bluetooth profiles as well as developing additional components such as the battery charger, backlights, vibrator, flight mode, multimedia plug-ins, an enhanced power model and cell broadcast software.
