Teleca supplies strategic software to Toshiba

Toshiba has developed a new 3G mobile phone for Vodafone live! The phone has been launched in Japan as the 902T and in Europe as the 921T. As its software development partner, Toshiba chose Teleca to supply a specially adapted and tested version of its world-leading Obigo mobile software suite.

The Vodafone 902T/921T is an ultramodern 3G phone with two cameras: a 1.9 megapixel autofocus camera plus a video camera. The phone also doubles as a music and video player, supporting formats such as MP3 and MPEG-4, as well as a mass of other functions, including full support for Vodafone’s 3G services. Teleca’s role in the development of the phone including supplying and integrating applications such as the browser, messenger (including MMS, EMS, SMS and unified message box), provisioning, and content manager (including DRM, e-mail, SyncML, SVG and local PC synchronisation), all of which were adapted and developed further for Toshiba. Teleca was also involved in producing system requirements and design, the systems integration of the applications and the user interface, and system testing and verification. “The Vodafone 921T is an impressive new 3G phone brimming with functions and finesse.
