LO’s largest national unions choose membership solutions from TeleComputing

LO and their national unions, including the largest, Fagforbundet and Fellesforbundet, have chosen to extend their cooperation with TeleComputing. The cooperation means that TeleComputing will migrate the existing membership solution Fane2 to a new and modern technology platform. The project has a lifespan of up to 15 months. TeleComputing will continue to have responsibility for the IT–operation of the existing membership solution with 550.000 members.

The national unions’ membership solution, Fane2, was first initiated and used by the national unions in 2001. Several changes have been made to Fane2 since then. Today, Fane2 is regarded as Norway’s largest membership solution for national unions and volunteer organizations. The membership solution ensures that the national unions, at any time, have managed control of their large membership base. Qualified sector- and business specialist from TeleComputing and TeleComputing’s subsidiary, Kentor, are engaged in the operation, migration and further development of the membership solution. - We have enjoyed a good working relationship with TeleComputing for several years. Their competence and experience with Fane2, our membership solution, has also been an important factor in our decision making process. An extension of our agreement with TeleComputing ensures that our future Fane2 solution needs are met, says Bente N. Halvorsen, Secretary Treasurer in LO. Fagforbundet is the largest union in LO (The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions), with more than 300,000 members. The members work in the private sector, for local and county governments and in the hospitals. Apprentices and students are also welcome as members. Fellesforbundet is LO’s largest union in the private sector. In total, the union has more than 158,000 members covering many occupational groups. - We are delighted that LO and their largest national unions have chosen to continue their cooperation with us.
