Alenia Aerospace chooses Telelogic tools for EuroSkyWay space project MALMÖ, Sweden, September 28, 1999 - Telelogic AB, the leading supplier of development tools for communications systems design and testing, announced today that Alenia Aerospazio, Space Division, (Rome, Italy), has selected Telelogic's Telelogic Tau SDL Suite for their system design activities for the development of the next-generation multimedia communication system. Alenia Aerospace is the leader of the EuroSkyWay project that will provide the first European network of geo-stationary satellites for multimedia communications. The first two satellites are expected to launch in the year 2002. "The greatest benefit of Telelogic´s SDL Suite is that it describes our system's functionality and requirements in a strictly formal and rigorous way during the architectural analysis study phase," said Giuseppe Matarazzo, EuroSkyWay program manager. "Using Telelogic tools assures us that we will get a high quality design in less time, every time." "We are very proud to partner with Alenia in the design and implementation of the EuroSkyWay system," said Anders Lidbeck, CEO of Telelogic. "Telelogic's tools have always been used extensively in designing complex satellite communication systems. SDL Suite contains a set of highly integrated development and testing tools that are based on formal SDL and MSC notations. SDL Suite allows our customers to manage all the components of their system, without the risk of losing consistency between the specifications of the real- time sub-systems and their implementation."
