Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Standardizes on Telelogic DOORS® for Requirements Management - US$200 Billion Joint Strike Fighter Program Managed with DOORS - MALMÖ, Sweden and IRVINE, California - May 8, 2002 - Telelogic (Stockholm Exchange: TLOG), the leading global provider of solutions for advanced systems and software development, today announced that Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has standardized its requirements management processes on an enterprise-wide level, mandating the use of DOORS for all new projects. As part of this expanded commitment to DOORS, a Lockheed Martin-led team will also build the groundbreaking Joint Strike Fighter series using DOORS as its requirements management system. The decision expands use of DOORS to encompass work performed by its partners and suppliers, including BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman. The Joint Strike Fighter program is the U.S. Department of Defense's initiative to produce cost- effective, next-generation strike aircraft for the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marines, and U.S. allies. A key objective of the program is to reduce the development, production, and ownership costs of the JSF aircraft. Each aircraft is based on a common design with standard features, incorporating unique components according to the differing needs of each service. "We have used Telelogic DOORS for number of years. It is now our enterprise-wide requirements management solution and we use it to manage our most complex and demanding projects." said Randal K. Moore, Director, Systems Engineering at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. "Through our use of DOORS we ensure that Lockheed Martin Aeronautics' quality processes and methodologies are consistently implemented." DOORS will provide Lockheed Martin the ability to maintain complete traceability and analysis, from the rationale for all requirements and the impact of changes to requirements to details about the evolving status of the program as it moves through production, testing and fielding. Lockheed Martin employs a strict systems engineering process, with a focus on quality and efficiency. It has been tuned through years of experience building mission-critical aircraft for the U.S. and allied military forces. Scott Raskin, President of Telelogic Americas, said, "Lockheed Martin's success gaining the JSF contract, and its decision to standardize on DOORS, illustrates the confidence they have in our products. They have discovered, first-hand, the tangible benefits that are gained from using a requirements management system throughout the life of a project." About Telelogic DOORS Telelogic DOORS is the world's leading requirements management tool according to the latest Standish Group industry report entitled, "What are your requirements? 2000." DOORS is a multi-platform, enterprise-wide requirements management tool designed to capture, link, trace, analyze and manage a wide range of information to ensure a project's compliance with specific requirements and standards. About the Joint Strike Fighter Program The Joint Strike Fighter program involves the production of an initial 22 aircraft in the program's US$25 billion System Development and Demonstration (SDD) phase formerly known as Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD). The total program is valued at approximately US$200 billion and will be a cornerstone of future defense capability for the United States, the United Kingdom and their allied partners. Plans call for more than 3,000 aircraft over the life of the program. The Joint Strike Fighter is designed to replace the A-10, the AV-8 Harrier, F-16 and the F/A-18.
