New Release Includes Integration to Microsoft Visio® for Improved Business Analysis

MALMÖ, Sweden and IRVINE, California –November 26, 2007 – Telelogic (Nordic Exchange/MidCap/TLOG) today announced the latest version of Telelogic System Architect®, its leading enterprise architecture and business process analysis solution.

System Architect 11.0 offers new features and capabilities that help organizations more fully deploy, visualize, collaborate on, and scale their enterprise architecture and business process analysis initiatives. New enterprise planning capabilities enable organizations to use their architecture to better understand the impact, resources and risks associated with evolving from their current environment to a future state. Other new features include time-based analysis and dynamic enterprise visualization.
"Christiana Care Health System is one of the leading healthcare organizations in the country. Any technology decisions we make must be clearly aligned with to our business strategies," said Dave Keifer, Enterprise Architect, Christiana Care Health System. "System Architect's new enterprise planning will enable us to better visualize and compare our current environment with our future goals and visualize the journey between the two. It will also help us better manage large amounts of data and migrate it smoothly into our enterprise architecture repository. System Architect offers a solid platform for any large-scale EA program focused on achieving actionable results and facilitating collaboration."
Also highlighting the announcement is Telelogic System Architect/Process Integrator™, a live integration between System Architect’s enterprise architecture solution and Microsoft Visio drawing and diagramming software. Visio business modelers can now actively participate in and more easily contribute to enterprise architecture development within the System Architect environment.

“AGL Energy is transforming its retail business and introducing a significant number of new business processes, all of which are modeled in Visio,” said Mark Williams, Enterprise Architect, AGL Energy Limited. “The new Process Integrator presents us with a great opportunity to centralize and standardize our Visio diagrams with a seamless integration into our System Architect repository. With this new capability, our organization is able to capture critical information from key stakeholders, and still take advantage of the advanced analytical capabilities within System Architect necessary to empower successful and educated decisions.”

Other product highlights include enhanced Web-based modeling and editing capabilities via Telelogic System Architect/XT™ and a complete enterprise architecture to IT implementation workflow based on a new System Architect integration with Telelogic Tau®, the company’s leading model-driven development (MDD™) solution for enterprise IT development. The System Architect - Tau integration is the next step in Telelogic’s strategy to offer robust support for service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects.

"Enterprise architecture repositories commonly offer the ability to store, structure and relate diverse information," said Greta James, research vice president, Business of IT Research Division, Gartner. "A repository's information can provide valuable insights on the impact of changes to the business over time, including the ramifications of these changes for IT resources. The ability to provide easy access to this information to a range of stakeholders is a valuable part of any enterprise architecture program."

“Telelogic’s strategy is to help our customers more easily understand the impact of evolving their enterprise architecture and business processes,” said Greg Sikes, Executive Vice President, Modeling Solutions Product Division, Telelogic. “System Architect’s enhanced enterprise planning and adaptive modeling and visualization environment will allow our customers to better collaborate on higher-quality enterprise architecture information, resulting in a more optimized enterprise both today and tomorrow.”

System Architect 11.0 key new features and capabilities include:

Improved Enterprise Planning
System Architect now delivers more comprehensive enterprise planning capabilities, a collection of features that enable organizations to use their enterprise architecture to better manage the changes required in moving from their current environment to a future state. New enterprise visualization enhancements enable architecture teams to perform time-based analysis by layering diagrams to see the impact of changes, such as ‘services available now and in 2008.’ Users also have the ability to dynamically categorize and view large amounts of project data. A unique “intelligent” folder structure automatically categorizes large amounts of information to facilitate data management and reuse in both small- and large-scale projects.

These new capabilities, in combination with System Architect’s role-based access control and intelligent merge/extract, are a significant step toward helping organizations use System Architect to see and understand the impact of change as they move from their current (‘as is’) to the future (‘to be’) architecture. The planning capabilities are available in System Architect, the Web-based System Architect/XT and the publishing-engine, System Architect/Publisher™.

Additional Modeling Interfaces
System Architect 11 has expanded its modeling interface options to better meet the needs of users throughout an organization. Customers can tailor architecture information to meet the needs of many different team members, such as architects requiring powerful modeling capabilities, analysts requiring simple business process analysis, executives needing dashboard views, and IT architects seeking insights into systems development.
• Microsoft Visio Support. The Telelogic System Architect/Process Integrator delivers a live integration between System Architect’s enterprise architecture solution and Microsoft Visio. Business analysts using Visio can now more easily access and analyze architecture data to ensure IT development is aligned to business goals and processes.
• Improved Web-based Editing. System Architect/XT, the Web-based version of System Architect, now offers expanded online editing capabilities, including the ability to use a Web browser to draw and edit models using the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and organizational chart diagrams. Also included are executive dashboards for improved high-level reporting. This addition expands the ability of System Architect users to post, review and share models regardless of geographic boundaries and time zones.
• UML 2.1 Support. System Architect is now compliant with the UML® 2.1 standard.

Expanded Reference Model Support
System Architect now provides fully integrated support for the latest version of the Supply Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR), a process reference model endorsed by the Supply Chain Council, and the TeleManagement Forum Next Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS), a comprehensive, integrated framework for operational and business support systems and software development in telecom networks. Using these optional integrated reference model templates, System Architect users can more quickly and efficiently launch and develop enterprise architecture programs tailored to these market sectors.

New Federal Standards Support
System Architect now supports generation of the Core Architecture Data Model (CADM), the Department of Defense’s architecture data element specification, a first step in achieving compliance with the DoD Architecture Repository System (DARS), a defense architecture information repository. Agencies can now more easily submit and share their architectures and models across the DoD. System Architect is the first solution to generate all of the DoD-compliant products for CADM.

Enterprise Architecture through Implementation Solution
In related news, Telelogic also separately announced the integration of Telelogic’s leading enterprise architecture and model-driven development for IT solutions -- Telelogic System Architect and Telelogic Tau, respectively. This integration enables organizations to develop a seamless workflow that begins with their enterprise architecture, takes into consideration business process analysis, and ends with application modeling and development. This is the first time any two modeling products have offered a working, bi-directional link between business and IT modeling through to application implementation. The integration is available free-of-charge to System Architect 11.0 and Tau 4.0 customers. See news release “Telelogic Integrates Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Analysis and IT Application Development Domains into a Unified Workflow.” http://www.telelogic.com/company/news/index.cfm

System Architect 11.0 and the options described above will be available on December 21. For more information, visit www.telelogic.com.
