Telelogic delivers real-time profile for UML with the release of Telelogic Tau 4.0 MALMÖ, Sweden, March 22, 2000 - Telelogic AB (Stockholm Stock Exchange:TLOG), the leading supplier of design, development and testing tools for event-driven, real-time and communications applications, today announced the availability of its newest, most powerful development environment to date - Telelogic Tau 4.0. Support for real-time application development is further enhanced, and Telelogic Tau 4.0 continues the harmonization of UML and SDL by offering new and powerful support for rd combining C++ with SDL. Enterprises developing 3 generation mobile communication applications can look forwards to a special UMTS pack, to be available within 30 days. "With the release of Telelogic Tau 4.0, developers are offered unequalled real-time, UML and C++ support," said Ingemar Ljungdahl, CTO. "It kicks UML into action using the proven power of SDL, and boosts real-time application development. It offers managers new ways of organizing workflow and enables developers to take advantage of a variety of development languages." The UML profile allows projects to simulate, validate and test their designs in UML. Further elaboration using SDL allows the complete application to be generated and deployed. The profile is part of the seamless real-time development workflow provided by Telelogic Tau 4.0. Time savings and quality improvements in each phase of this workflow give real-time managers control over time-to-market and application quality. Telelogic Tau 4.0's C++ interface tool opens up the world of C++. It makes the enormous number of components and protocol stacks expressed in C++ available to developers who prefer to work predominantly in high-level languages such as UML and SDL. The C++ can be any combination of C++ components, legacy C++, or C++ generated by the Telelogic Tau UML Suite. Finally, the complete C/C++ application is fully and automatically generated. Telelogic Tau 4.0 even offers analysis and simulation of the C++ code that it is being interfaced to. Non-real-time components, like user interface and database, can now be easily integrated with the real- time components of the system. Availability Telelogic Tau 4.0 is currently available for Microsoft® Windows® 95, Windows® 98, Windows NT 4.0 and UNIX workstations. About Telelogic Tau Telelogic Tau is comprised of tools for the analysis, design and testing of event-driven, real-time applications. Telelogic Tau merges the graphical notation of UML (Unified Modeling Language) in the Telelogic Tau UML Suite, with the design and development language of SDL (Specification Description Language) in the Telelogic Tau SDL Suite. This, together with the Telelogic Tau TTCN Suite, provides a complete software development, simulation and testing environment for real-time and communications applications. Telelogic Tau offers advanced project control functions, as well as simulation without the need to write code in the implementation language, interactive generation of sequence diagrams, automatic generation of test cases, and test case simulation and execution. It also includes comprehensive, world-class UML support. By reducing the time spent in each of the analysis and design phases, and especially during the target construction and test phases, the entire software development cycle is reduced.
