Telelogic Elevated to VIP Level in Mercury Interactive's Open Architecture Program - Automating End to-End Defect Management Process Provides Increased Visibility and Efficiencies - MALMÖ, Sweden and IRVINE, California - October 8, 2001 - Telelogic, (Stockholm Stock Exchange: TLOG), the world-leading provider of solutions for advanced software and systems development, today announced that it has been elevated to the Validated Integration Partner (VIP) Level of Mercury Interactive's Open Architecture Program (OAP). Mercury Interactive is the leading provider of enterprise testing and application performance management solutions. VIP level status means that Telelogic has a fully functioning and documented integration with one of Mercury Interactive's application performance management solutions. As a result of the alliance, Telelogic has integrated its Synergytm product line with Mercury Interactive's TestDirector®, a global test management solution for organizing and managing each stage of the testing process to determine application readiness. Acquired by Telelogic from Continuus Software in December 2000, Synergy enables automated application lifecycle management through two best-of-breed change management tools: CM Synergy for software configuration management and ChangeSynergy for change request management. Together, these integrated tools simplify change management by clearly identifying associations between any type of change request and related changes in the application. Integrating Telelogic Synergy with Mercury Interactive's TestDirector delivers a new level of synchronization between change management and testing activities. By leveraging Synergy's central repository, team members have full visibility to all change requests, including defects, while testers still perform all operations from within the TestDirector environment. This visibility enables development and testing teams to better communicate and collaborate during the development and testing process. The result is higher quality products and reduced time-to- market. The Synergy/TestDirector integration also delivers a new level of automation. Using trend analysis defect reports to evaluate code and developer/tester productivity, management can identify strengths and weaknesses, thereby reducing development costs and increasing quality. "Individuals often lack complete visibility to the lifecycle due to either poorly integrated development tools or those that require manual, error-prone processes to use in a team environment," said Bill Philbin, senior vice president of Telelogic's global product organization. "By integrating Synergy's automated lifecycle management capabilities with TestDirector, organizations now have complete visibility of the entire defect lifecycle, including development and testing activities associated with a defect. This enables managers to understand the full impact a defect has on project timelines and provides testers with immediate access to development information and defect status." "Mercury Interactive's Open Architecture Program enables companies like Telelogic to deliver customized solutions based on their customers specific business requirements," said Jim Hare, director of strategic alliances at Mercury Interactive. "We are pleased that Telelogic has completed the integration with TestDirector. Partners like Telelogic add tremendous value by building integrations, while customers get the best in enterprise testing and application performance management solutions to run their businesses and increase customer satisfaction." Extending Product Integration Integration between Synergy and TestDirector enhances the level of integration between the two company's products. Telelogic DOORS, the industry's leading requirements management tool, is already integrated with TestDirector to provide users with robust testing functionality. This product integration enables users to determine whether requirements have been satisfied and which tests will need to be modified to support changes in the requirements. With the ability to trace a failed test to its corresponding requirements, it is possible to accurately gauge the time and cost required to resolve any defects. By enhancing collaboration among the development team, DOORS/TestDirector integration, can significantly reduce development time and cost. Availability The Telelogic Mercury Test Director interface is available now for Microsoft®, Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000.
