Telelogic System Architect For SOA and Telelogic Tau 3.1 Deliver on the Needs of Business Process Optimization and Application Development

MALMÖ, Sweden and IRVINE, California – May 21, 2007 – Telelogic (Nordic Exchange/MidCap/TLOG) today announced two products that accelerate Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) adoption by enabling business and IT collaboration from visual design of an Enterprise Architecture through the development of service applications. SOA describes an architecture that uses loosely coupled services to support the requirements of today’s highly competitive businesses.

The new products – Telelogic System Architect® For SOA and Telelogic Tau® 3.1 – are designed to expand SOA workflow capabilities to help business and IT managers align their efforts to develop, deliver, and maintain service-oriented applications.

- Building upon Telelogic’s market-leading Enterprise Architecture (EA) solution, System Architect For SOA provides the planning and implementation benefits of EA and Business Process Analysis to organizations developing a strategy to roll out a Service Oriented Architecture (for details see accompanying release).

- Tau 3.1, the latest version of the company’s popular model-driven development (MDD) solution, makes it easier to design, create, assemble, and test the business solutions of a Service Oriented Architecture (for details see accompanying release).

Today’s announcements deliver on Telelogic’s commitment to provide enterprise-wide products and solutions that allow organizations to align their enterprise objectives with their technology investments through Business Process Optimization (BPO), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Model-Driven Development (MDD). With System Architect For SOA and Tau 3.1, Telelogic brings together model-driven applications that uniquely help organizations build complete business solutions while reusing existing services. The approach also helps business and IT professionals design SOA and service-based capabilities that enhance business agility so that all stakeholders can assess technological advances while understanding the impact on the organization’s business strategy.

“As SOA becomes pervasive and service modeling standards emerge, the pressure will become overwhelming for organizations to have an SOA modeling strategy linked to the business through business process management,” says David Norton, Research Director, Gartner. “The integration of business and system modeling tools will offer organization more features and flexibility for model-based service assembly leading to faster deployment.”

Both Telelogic System Architect For SOA and Telelogic Tau 3.1 help organizations looking to improve SOA adoption and alignment of IT technologies with business strategies. With these capabilities, organizations now have the unique ability to support the entire lifecycle of an SOA service from requirements to development, test, and maintenance. This is becoming increasingly important for organizations to deliver services that integrate all aspects of the lifecycle.

“Many of our customers are looking to SOA methods to help them become more agile in their ability to better support their business process goals. An essential piece of the puzzle is a clear understanding of the IT landscape; this will help companies establish interconnected processes that facilitate collaboration between business and IT stakeholders,” says Greg Sikes, Executive Vice President, Modeling Solutions at Telelogic. “Our new System Architect For SOA and Tau 3.1 make it possible to quickly create a portfolio of service-based applications.”
