Telelogic Partners with NewLogic to Provide WorldwideBluetooth Solution Partnership formed to help SDL-users to speed their Bluetooth Applications to market Monte Carlo, Monaco, June 14th, 2000 - Telelogic AB (Stockholm Stock Exchange:TLOG), the leading supplier of design, development and testing tools for real-time communications applications, today announced the formation of a partnership with NewLogic GmbH, an Austrian based supplier of Bluetooth intellectual property. Telelogic will distribute NewLogic's BOOST (Bluetooth Original On-chip SysTem) Bluetooth stack solution on the world market, together with its tools and services. "The partnership with NewLogic supports our component strategy for Bluetooth Wireless Technology. We can now provide Bluetooth-stack solutions both in SDL and in C for our customers and we see this product as a complement to our other partnership with Mecel AB," said Anders Lidbeck, President & CEO of Telelogic AB. NewLogic's protocol stack has been developed using Telelogic Tau SDL Suite. This allows an improved simulation of each single layer and of the complete system. The SDL language also improves the readability and the maintainability of the software, which guarantees an easy evolution towards future standard modifications. Although the BOOST Software was developed in conjunction with NewLogic's baseband processor cores, it can be used as the heart of any compliant Bluetooth system. The Telelogic Tau tool suite is comprised of visual object-oriented tools for all phases of the development process, with full support for UML, SDL and TTCN languages. With the addition of the NewLogic protocol stack, this newly offered solution will help customers develop their Bluetooth-enabled products faster and more efficiently. "With the Bluetooth standard rapidly gaining worldwide acceptance, it was important for us to establish a strategic partnership which would enable us to bring our proven software solutions to designers on a global basis," said Mr. Hans-Peter Metzler, president and CEO of NewLogic. "Our BOOST protocol-stack solution, together with Telelogic's tools and services, will give designers the time-to-market advantage they need to capitalize on this exploding market" Availability Telelogic will be distributing the NewLogic SDL Bluetooth solution within the telecommunications industry as early as August 2000.
