Telelogic receives first large component deal NEC orders 3G component MALMÖ, Sweden, May 11, 2000 - Telelogic AB (Stockholm Stock Exchange:TLOG), the leading supplier of design, development and testing tools for real-time communications applications, today announced a first deal related to the newly started business area for components. Telelogic will deliver an IMT-2000 protocol stack to NEC in Japan. IMT-2000 is the Japanese part of the third generation mobile telephony systm (3G). "This proofs that our focused component strategy is successful.", says Anders Lidbeck, President and CEO for Telelogic. "NEC is one of the mayor 3G players and it is fantastic that they trust us with the protocol stacks for their 3G terminals." 3G is the coming world wide standard for mobile communication. Japan will be the first country with a 3G system available for consumers. Lidbeck continues "We are very satisfied to be part of one of the first 3G projects in the world. Telelogic is one of the largest 3G players on a global basis and this, so far the largest 3G order for Telelogic, is just the beginning." Telelogic is the world leading supplier of development tools for 3G development. During the first quarter a new business area for 3G and Bluetooth components was formed. The business area is still in a build-up phase, but is expected to have a turnover of 50 MSEK within 12 months. The size of the deal is not revealed since similar negotiations with other customers are in progress.
