Telelogic Accepted as a Mercury Alliance Program Premier Partner

MERCURY WORLD, LAS VEGAS, NV – Oct. 10, 2006 – Telelogic (Nordic Exchang/Mid Cap/ TLOG), a leading provider of software solutions that align advanced systems and software development with business objectives, today announced it has become a Premier Alliance Partner in the Mercury Alliance Program in the category of enterprise architecture management for integration with Mercury Universal CMDB™, Mercury’s configuration management database. Mercury Interactive Corporation, the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO) software, provides the alliance program for technology and software vendors that offer complementary products to help customers optimize the business outcomes of IT.

Telelogic System Architect®, a leader in enterprise architecture and business process modeling/analysis software, will be integrated with Mercury Universal CMDB to help companies assess the business impact of changes from the end-user perspective. Using System Architect with Mercury Universal CMDB, joint customers can automatically pre-populate their enterprise architecture repository with IT infrastructure information from the CMDB. By gathering and analyzing the IT infrastructure and business information using the System Architect repository, customers will be able to improve decision-making in areas like IT portfolio management and service oriented architecture (SOA).

Customers can use System Architect to identify and assess IT architecture and technology risks and address system redundancy and obsolescence issues. Customers can also better realize the value of their SOA initiatives by modeling and simulating the proposed services to understand the underlying technology required for those services.

The integration of the products will be demonstrated at the Telelogic booth at Mercury World, Oct. 8-11 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Mercury is pleased to be working with Telelogic on its IT Service Management strategy,” said Julio C. Rojas, director corporate business development, Mercury. “This integration joins two industry-leading solutions—Mercury’s CMDB offering and Telelogic’s enterprise architecture offering--delivering value to our mutual customers. Our customers can now use System Architect to map their IT infrastructure and processes to business processes and objectives to align IT with their business goals.”

“Telelogic customers can now automatically map their IT data to applications using the Mercury IT Service Management solution to streamline and accelerate the EA development process,” said Greg Sikes, EVP of Enterprise Architecture and Modeling, Telelogic.

“This solution enables organizations to use Mercury Universal CMDB and Mercury Application Mapping™ to automatically discover and organize their applications and IT infrastructure information. With this data in System Architect, the EA team can visualize, analyze, and share knowledge throughout the organization. Executives will be able to make better decisions at all levels – from strategic to operational to tactical. Our goal is to deliver an ‘Actionable Architecture’ to help IT executives make better decisions about their IT initiatives, such as SOA,” added Sikes.

According to Robert Handler, research vice president, Enterprise Architecture, Gartner Inc., and co-author of IT Portfolio Management: Unlocking The Business Value of Technology. “Capturing useful current state information on infrastructure can be difficult. It’s a moving target. It’s a definite step in the right direction toward aligning that which is planned with that which exists and to minimize risk and uncertainty. Enterprise architecture is a key part of IT governance and portfolio management because it helps you understand what you have and where you are going, making it a lot easier to decide what to do next.”

With this combination of product features, joint customers can ask ‘what if’ questions of their IT infrastructure and business processes to better understand the impact of change before significant resource expenditures are incurred. With System Architect’s Web-based technology (System Architect/XT), customers can gain a clear understanding of their global business processes and IT infrastructure, with Mercury Universal CDMB enabling the infrastructure information to be automatically updated over time.

Telelogic System Architect comprehensively supports all structured, data, object, and business process modeling techniques. In one powerful tool, the relationships between the diverse business relationships of technology, processes, and data can be visualized and traced back to their original sources. As a result, organizations can more quickly understand, analyze, and take action on business and technology issues.

Telelogic System Architect has been recognized in the Leaders Quadrant by Gartner, Inc., in the Enterprise Architecture Tools and Business Process Analysis Magic Quadrants. For more information on System Architect, visit: http://www.telelogic.com/corp/products/systemarchitect/index.cfm
