- Integrated DoDAF Capabilities Deliver Global, Real-Time Access to Architecutre Information -

LandWarNet Conference 2006 (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) – Aug. 22, 2006 – Telelogic, the leading provider of software solutions that align advanced systems and software development with business objectives, today announced the availability of DoDAF role-based templates for its new Telelogic SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT option, which provides Web access for enterprise architecture and modeling information to people worldwide. SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT’s integrated role-based templates feature the automatic generation of Web information according to the DoDAF format, ranging from high-level graphical charts to more complex process diagrams and use cases. Architecture teams can also create and customize a variety of Web pages that best meet the unique needs of their customers. “SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT is able to link geographically dispersed workgroups across the defense community using standard web browser technology,” said Greg Sikes, executive vice president, Telelogic. “SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT’s integrated support for DoDAF streamlines collaboration and communication across defense enterprise architecture programs and encourages greater participation and improved decision making across the organization. This communication targets feedback from the executive level down to the IT developer and subject matter expert.” Through a standard web browser, SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT extends real-time access of its live repository to users anywhere in the world. Users can take advantage of SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT’s highly intuitive user interface to perform repository searches, view model(s), add or update the repository information or comment on the architecture while it is in development. Like any Web browser, users can create bookmarks in a favorites menu to help them more quickly find the information they need. All repository information is centrally managed to ensure consistency. “SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT makes it easier for a wider audience to actively participate in the architecture definition and development process,” said Sikes. “The success of an architecture project often rests not on just technical development, but on the ability of an entire organization to analyze, discuss and collaborate on the data. SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT facilitates the gathering of feedback and building a consensus among the many groups who are interested in aligning technology to goals, missions and capabilities.” The DoDAF template provides prebuilt sets of reports that answer questions on a defense architecture. Users simply click on the reports. The repository is automatically queried in real time and the appropriate information is generated in the form of pie charts, bar charts, timelines and diagrams. SYSTEM ARCHITECT/XT enables users to: • Ask questions of the information specific to the defense architecture; • Ask questions of the information concerning the overall health of the architecture; • Construct and ask their own questions of the repository information; • Perform basic and advanced searches on the repository information, including DoD artifacts and products; • Browse the repository via a standard Web browser. Telelogic SYSTEM ARCHITECT® for DoDAF is the leading enterprise software solution that supports the US Department of Defense Architecture Framework.
