System Architect Earns Top Ranking for Features that Better Align IT to Business Goals

MALMÖ, Sweden and IRVINE, California – April 2, 2008 – Telelogic (Nordic Exchange/MidCap/TLOG) today announced that Yphise, a leading independent French analyst firm, has ranked Telelogic System Architect® as the top Business Processes & Architecture Modeling (BPAM) solution in their Software Product Assessment on BPAM—Business Processes and Architecture Modeling report published on 31st March 2008

Yphise described System Architect as an “an efficient and comprehensive solution for modeling the business processes and IT architecture.” The Yphise report recognized the superiority of System Architect in three dimensions:

- “The solution provides the best coverage of our list of requirements. It includes all the capabilities required to model, manage and analyze business processes and architecture.”

- “Managing the dependencies between IT and business” for its efficient matrices and explorer functions to identify the relationships, particularly in the area of SOA management, and

- “Optimizing the IT project definition” for its integration with the Telelogic Tau® model-driven development environment, which provides a bi-directional link between business and IT from enterprise architecture and business process analysis through the systems and software development lifecycle.

The report states:
“System Architect demonstrates strengths in order to facilitate modeling via an open data model and simplify navigation in the business repository. It especially stands out in defining and managing the IT architecture and projects according to business needs and constraints.”

“[System Architect] can be usefully complemented by other Telelogic products, fully integrated, such as [Telelogic] DOORS® (requirements management), Tau (software design and development) and [Telelogic] Focal Point™ (decision and portfolio management). As a result, the product demonstrates a valuable positioning in terms of helping manage IT and SOA developments in connection with architecture and business needs.”

Anders Lidbeck, Telelogic President and CEO, said, “This Yphise report acknowledges our commitment to being the market leader in business process modeling and architecture, and validates System Architect’s many strengths in helping organizations align their IT initiatives to their business goals. Its integration with Telelogic DOORS and Tau complements our corporate vision for support of enterprise lifecycle development and management.”

Yphise evaluated the performance of four BPAM vendors against four criteria, including: 1) improving agility; 2) optimizing IT project management according to business needs; 3) optimizing architecture and business processes performance; and (4) controlling and managing modeling-related risks.
