Teleopti secures future innovation with a new R&D hub in Jönköping

Teleopti, a global leader in cloud-based Workforce Management (WFM) solutions, continues their journey at the forefront of innovation by establishing a new R&D office in Jönköping. Recruitment for both experienced developers and brand new talents fresh out of university will begin promptly. By the end of the year, 2-3 agile teams are scheduled to be up and running in Jönköping.

Focusing 100% on developing, implementing and supporting WFM solutions, Teleopti has largely completed the shift of their business to cloud. This makes delivery of new features to customers and innovation of new WFM software such as bots and AI even easier. With this cloud enablement, the company is ready to push on by consistently bringing new features to the market and extending R&D capacity even further. The decision was made to set up a new R&D site in a city away from Stockholm, to tap into and nurture the experience, creativity and potential of a different talent pool. Jönköping was chosen for its technical focus, geographical location and renowned university.

But the Jönköping establishment isn't just a strategic one - it's the hometown of CEO Olle Düring, meaning the city holds a special place for Teleopti. "Having grown up in Jönköping, I've had first-hand experience of both the great community in Jönköping and the innovative talent that resides there. What better place to call home for our next development hub?", he says.

To head up the hub, Jönköping native Martin Videfors is brought home from Teleopti’s main US office in Denver. Martin has worked for Teleopti for many years; most recently as Director of Technical Consulting. His first task will be to set up a team around him, consisting of both front-end and back-end, as well as full-stack developers.

Olle Düring comments: “Martin’s broad product- and Teleopti knowledge are great for this role. In combination with his deep technical skills and leadership experience it makes him a perfect match!”

Martin Videfors comments: “I am excited and grateful to have been given the chance to break ground for Teleopti in the region. Having worked with Teleopti for so many years, most of the time remotely from Jönköping, I am eager to share our spirit (Teleoptimism) and bring new stars aboard to further strengthen our position in the WFM world and set a footprint in Jönköping.”

The new recruits will be working in agile teams in close collaboration with Teleopti’s three other Swedish R&D hubs in Gävle, Strängnäs and Stockholm, as well as with the development office in Shenzhen, China. Read more about the new office and open positions in Jönköping on our Career website
