Phonoscope Global Selects Telia Carrier as IP Transit Provider
Stockholm/Houston – 9 May 2016 – Telia Carrier today announced that its global IP network (AS1299) was selected by Phonoscope Global as the carrier for the United States’ first and largest privately owned fiber optic Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). Comprised of more than 23,000 miles of fiber, Phonoscope Global provides comprehensive regional coverage and brings Telia Carrier closer to its existing and potential customers.
Driven by bandwidth demand in Houston, Telia Carrier’s partnership with Phonoscope Global enhances solutions to serve the regional and global needs of large players in the oil, gas and natural resource sectors. Continued participation in the growth and reach of research, healthcare and education networks are also an important focus. The partnership allows Telia Carrier to reach customers it would not have had access to otherwise and Phonoscope Global can now offer global connectivity for its clients upon request. Telia Carrier’s top-two ranked global IP backbone and numerous established points of presence (PoPs) throughout Texas and globally, along with Phonoscope superior fiber optic access network, provides customers of both companies with privately managed, customized connectivity.
