Stockholm/Denver – 14 September 2016 – Telia Carrier today announced that it has established a new point of presence (PoP) with CoreSite (NYSE:COR), with new deployments at CoreSite’s SV1 and SV4 data centers in Silicon Valley. The expanded relationship provides CoreSite customers in Silicon Valley with access to Telia Carrier’s top-ranked global IP network, connecting multiple facilities across the country, and enabling enterprises to establish connectivity across the globe.

Telia Carrier chose to expand with CoreSite in the important Silicon Valley market based on CoreSite’s flexibility, scalability, and local customer base of more than 200 customers, including more than 125 network, cloud and IT service providers. Telia Carrier recently established a low-latency route between the Bay Area and Los Angeles with high-capacity 100G transmission capability, providing market-leading latency and redundancy between Silicon Valley and the Pacific cable landing points in Los Angeles. This enhanced high-speed connectivity and the presence of diverse fiber routes will benefit CoreSite’s robust and rapidly growing communities of interest in the Bay Area.

CoreSite’s presence in the Bay Area and nationally continues to grow with construction of its seventh multi-tenant data center (SV7) in the Silicon Valley market. CoreSite designed SV7 to offer a scalable, high-performance, enterprise-class colocation and interconnection solution with close proximity to the heart of the high-tech Silicon Valley market. SV7 will be the largest among CoreSite’s five-building, 619,000 square-foot Santa Clara Campus, emerging as one of the leading hubs of interconnection and cloud services on the West Coast and a key component of CoreSite’s 780,000 square-foot Bay Area portfolio.

“A vital component of our strategy is to partner with best-in-class carriers to ensure that our customers have access to diverse, high-quality carrier services to support their mission-critical IT needs,” said Ben Green, VP of Sales, Network & Mobility at CoreSite. “Continuing our successful, long-standing relationship with Telia Carrier allows us to ensure our national platform of network-dense, cloud-enabled data centers is connected at the highest speeds possible.”

Now active with CoreSite in Silicon Valley, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and Northern Virginia/ Washington DC, Telia Carrier’s top-ranked backbone is available in each market with the ability to deliver 100G waves in approximately 4 weeks.

“With significant growth in the past few years, CoreSite’s world-class data centers have provided us with a key opportunity to increase our presence in facilities across the US,” said Art Kazmierczak, Director of Business Development, Americas at Telia Carrier Inc. “We have witnessed significant demand for our Internet backbone and IP services across CoreSite’s national platform and are pleased to continue working together to provide superior services for our customers.”

According to Dyn Research’s global backbone rankings, AS1299, Telia Carrier’s global IP backbone is currently ranked top-two. Telia Carrier’s rapid growth and ascension through the rankings was recently highlighted in Dyn’s ‘Baker’s Dozen, 2015 edition’ report. The company enables worldwide connectivity by connecting more than 200 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East including over 70 PoPs in North America alone.
