TeliaSonera International Carrier expands its extensive global backbone further into Asia and sets up its second point of presence in Singapore. Customers will benefit from the availability of high quality IP services and the ability to connect locally to one of the largest and fastest growing global IP-backbone.

“Our further expansion into Asia, following our PoP in Hong Kong is an important strategic step in our ambition to become one of the three largest global IP carriers” said Malin Frenning, President TeliaSonera International Carrier.
”TeliaSonera has chosen Singapore for it second Internet PoP in Asia due to Singapore being the Internet hub of South East Asia and the place to be for Internet services in the region.”

TeliaSonera International Carrier owns and manages over 43,000 kilometers of fiber-optic cable and has more than 100 points of presence across Europe, the US and Asia. In Europe, we handle more IP traffic and sell more capacity between countries than any other communications provider. Over 85 percent of the European internet market uses our IP backbone.

Competing against other wholesale carriers from around the world, TeliaSonera International Carrier was awarded Best Wholesale Carrier at the World Communication Awards 2007. A crucial factor in clinching the award was the fact that we provide consistently high-quality services.
