TeliaSonera International Carrier has been nominated for Best Wholesale Carrier for the sixth consecutive year at this year’s World Communication Awards (WCA).

TeliaSonera International Carrier is a global provider of cross-border communications services and delivers content and applications to millions of passionate and demanding users worldwide through our solutions for the media, gaming and other online entertainment industries. Having twice received the award for Best Wholesale Carrier in 2009 and 2007, TeliaSonera International Carrier has also been victorious in the categories of Best New Service and Best Customer Care.

Erik Hallberg President of TeliaSonera International Carrier, says “It’s very encouraging to once again be shortlisted in the category of Best Wholesale Carrier. Following on from previous wins this proves we are a carrier that has successfully been able to place itself as a global leader and that we are continuing to perform at our best year after year, as we operate in one of the world's most rapidly changing, demanding and competitive industries.”

The aim of the World Communication Awards is to recognise the companies and individuals behind the innovations, achievements and new services that are helping to build the communications industry. For the 2011 WCA’s Best Wholesale Carrier category, the judges were looking for the most innovative business model, successful partnering strategy or new technology deployment behind the most successful wholesale carrier business. Revenue growth and other KPIs will also be taken into account.

Other nominees are the Colt Group, Interroute, Orange Business Services and Tata Communications.

The World Communication Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony on 7 November 2011 at the Park Lane Hotel, London.
