TeliaSonera International Carrier extends 100G connectivity in the U.S. – partnering with colocation provider 365 Data Centers in key tier 2 cities
TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) continues its North American expansion by partnering with 365 Data Centers, one of the top U.S. colocation providers, to deliver 100Gbps connectivity and data center services in key tier 2 cities such as Buffalo, Tampa, Nashville, St Louis, Cleveland and Indianapolis.
TSIC was the first carrier with a 100G enabled backbone in both Europe and North America in addition to owning and operating one of the world’s largest fiber optic backbones. The company enables worldwide connectivity by connecting 200 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East including 44 PoPs in North America alone.
Ivo Pascucci, Regional Director, Americas for TeliaSonera International Carrier, says,
“We´re proud to continue our 100G expansion to meet the increasing demand in the U.S. for rich content and high-speed access for businesses, carriers, cable operators, mobile data operators and content, cloud and managed service providers. Combining 365‘s data center services with our ability to rapidly provision high-bandwidth services, means both parties can offer greater customer and end user value across the markets.
So far TSIC has installed multiple-terabit capacity at six 365 Data Centers’ U.S. facilities, thereby adding 100G connectivity in Buffalo, N.Y.; Tampa, Fla.; Nashville, Tenn.; St Louis, Mo.; Cleveland, Ohio; and Indianapolis, Ind.
John Scanlon, CEO, 365 Data Centers says, “The consumption of video and data via any device, anywhere, is driving the demand for localization of content and increasing edge access speeds. This is in turn rapidly accelerating demand in the formerly under-served, but developing Tier 2 markets that 365 targets,” said John Scanlon, CEO, 365 Data Centers. “Partnering with TSIC to connect our clients with one of the world’s largest 100Gbps enabled backbones is an important part of our service and growth strategy in these locations. It’s beneficial for our entire ecosystem of service providers.”
