TeliaSonera International Carrier is currently experiencing a dramatic increase in the demand for transatlantic capacity. To improve our current market position and to move towards the corporate vision of being one of the top three global IP carriers by 2010, TeliaSonera International Carrier has now secured terms to increase transatlantic capacity by adding a minimum of 160Gbits worth of transatlantic capacity (16x10Gbits) over the next three years. The selected suppliers are Apollo Submarine Cable Systems, FLAG Telecom and VSNL International and
“TeliaSonera International Carrier has seen a high demand for capacity based on growing use of Online Gaming and Media services. Utilizing TSIC 40000 KM fibre network in US and Europe Transatlantic capacity has been identified as a scarce resource. To secure Cost leadership TSIC have agreed on terms for its long term demand of Transatlantic capacity, says Malin Frenning, Senior Vice President Head of Wholesale & International Carrier.

TeliaSonera International Carrier has strategically selected more than one supplier. The selection of three suppliers will guarantee flexibility, more routes, diversity and added service quality.
