TeliaSonera International Carrier nominated Best Wholesale Carrier and for Best New Service in World Communications Awards 2009

TeliaSonera International Carrier has been nominated in two categories - the Best Wholesale Carrier and the Best New Service categories for the annual World Communication Awards, one of the most trusted, independent global communications industry events of its kind.

The World Communication Awards recognise the companies and individuals behind the innovations, achievements and new services that are building the communications industry. The awards are open to all communications providers, including traditional carriers, service providers, multimedia content providers and other organisations providing communication services. “We are very proud of being nominated in two categories this year. The Best Wholesale Carrier category and the Best New Service,” says Malin Frenning, President TeliaSonera International Carrier. “The recognition is very encouraging and an important step in our ambition to become one of the three largest global IP carriers. Winning the award for Best Wholesale Carrier 2007 challenged us to pursue our successful strategy.” Criteria for the WCA’s Best Wholesale Carrier category in 2009 included differentiation in cost and quality levels, breadth of international reach and connectivity options and a focus on growth and innovative business models. Corresponding criteria for WCA’s Best New Service included innovation, growth and standing out towards the competition. The winner will be announced on November 25 at a ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton in London.
