TeliaSonera International Carrier is now offering 40 Gbps Wavelength on its existing DWDM network in Europe.

The current market environment is characterized by increased traffic growth driven by new services and applications. Video- and real-time content has become a major bandwidth driver and also high capacity storage area networks requirements are exploding. The TeliaSonera International Carrier network was specifically designed to carry native 40 Gbps capacity to meet increased capacity demands from its existing and future customer base. This enhanced service will allow the establishment of high bandwidth point-point connectivity and reduce the complexity of managing multiple 10 Gbps Wavelength circuits at a higher cost. “TeliaSonera International Carrier itself is currently experiencing a dramatic increase in the demand for IP capacity. To improve our current market position and to move towards the corporate vision of being one of the top three global IP carriers by 2010, TeliaSonera International Carrier will now deploy 40Gbps Wavelength to meet the future demand of internal and external network capacity on TeliaSonera International Carrier DWDM platforms,” says Malin Frenning, President TeliaSonera International Carrier.
