- new album available for downloading five days before its official release

Tomorrow, Friday the 26th of October, is the date for the sneak preview of Britney Spears’s new comeback album “Blackout” on SurfPort, Telia’s mobile portal in Sweden. Telia’s mobile customers will be able to download the songs five days before the official release on October 31.

Britney Spears’s first single on the upcoming new album, “Gimme More”, has climbed rapidly on lists all over the world since it was released at the end of August this year. In September, “Gimme More” was the seventh most downloaded song on Telia SurfPort. The rave reviews and high ratings by the foreign media have built up expectations further about the launch of the new album.

“We are naturally proud to be the only operator in the Nordic region that can offer its customers completely unique material from an artist who has gained so much media attention in the world,” says Fredrik Rudberg, Sales Manager for Mobility Services at TeliaSonera Sweden.

The new Britney Spears album will be released in association with SonyBMG. Telia SurfPort is the leading mobile portal in the Nordic and Baltic region with more than one million unique users per month. SurfPort features, for example, the Source music store which offers over four million songs for downloading. During 2007, more than 100,000 songs have been downloaded to date.

Telia uses the so-called Dual Delivery system for songs – customers who download songs from SurfPort to their mobile phones can also automatically access them via broadband, making it easy for them to download the music to their computers as well.
