Save digital photos with Telia Secure Storage

All of Telia’s private customers with a broadband subscription in Sweden are now being offered the opportunity to store their digital pictures securely and free of charge. The new service is called “Telia Secure Storage” (Telia Säker lagring) and functions like having your own harddrive on the Internet.

Telia’s broadband customers now have access to an online service that offers a highly secure way to protect their digital images. Customers are being given access to 50 MB of storage capacity free of charge which is enough space to store approximately 50-150 photos, depending on the resolution. The storage capacity can be increased anytime as storage needs grow. For example, 500 MB of storage space costs only SEK 29 per month including VAT (25%). Telia Secure Storage can also be used as a storage site for keeping other types of valuable digital information, such as thesis work in connection with studies, CVs or genealogical research on family histories. “This is another way for us to increase data security and add even more value for our customers. Now they can store their digital photos in a secure way and avoid risking the loss of their favourite pictures,” says Indra Åsander, head of the consumer market at TeliaSonera Sweden. Telia Secure Storage includes a virtual web album that relatives and friends can also use to share and display their digital pictures from their latest party or holiday trip. Users can also get help to have their pictures developed and posted directly to their home address. The images can be accessed from any type of computer. The only thing that is required is a password that customers choose themselves and a computer with an Internet connection. The service has been developed by the Swedish company Storegate and users can increase their online storage space all the way up to 10 GB.
