For the second consecutive year, Telia Company has received a platinum rating from EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings. Telia received an overall score of 83 out of 100, placing it among the top 1% of more than 100,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.

To make its assessment, EcoVadis measured the quality of Telia’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions and results, focusing on 21 sustainability criteria across four themes: environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. This year, EcoVadis updated its methodology and requested more detailed information in the environment and labor & human rights themes.

Since receiving a gold rating in 2021, Telia has made steady improvements by thoroughly integrating the sustainability agenda into its business strategy and key processes, making strong commitments and setting ambitious goals, continuously engaging with stakeholders to better understand and address impacts and risks, constantly assessing material impact areas, and reporting in a granular manner on achievements and challenges.

Sara Nordbrand, Head of Group Sustainability at Telia Company, says: “Maintaining platinum status reflects our commitment to continuing to evolve and strengthen Telia’s business and offerings. Thorough integration of sustainability – into strategy as well as key processes – is increasingly a prerequisite to remain relevant to customers. We look forward to taking the next steps in 2024, with our customers, suppliers and other partners and stakeholders, at a time when there are huge societal challenges and the EU is pushing the whole corporate community to do more to increase the resilience of society and the economy.”

Telia is committed to delivering sustainably through an accountable and empowered organization, thereby contributing to more resilient and equitable societies and improving the lives of its customers.
