Telia Connect simplifies wireless working On Monday, April 19, Telia is launching Telia Connect, a mobile package that makes it easier to work wirelessly. With Telia Connect, users can easily connect to the Internet, or their company intranet, and automatically gain access the fastest mobile network available. Telia Connect has been developed in a Nordic cooperation project within TeliaSonera and a similar service will be introduced simultaneously in Finland. Telia's latest "Communications Barometer" survey for companies indicated that three out of four small businesses thought it was rather important, or very important, to have a fast Internet connection when they are working outside the office. One out of three working in a small company has lost an important project, or an order, because they were not available through the Internet or by phone. "The Internet is the life nerve of many companies and availability will soon be one of their most important competitive advantages. With Telia Connect, it will be even easier for users to connect their computer with a PC card, or a mobile phone, virtually anywhere, allowing them to communicate quickly," says Erik Heilborn, head of the Business Segment at TeliaSonera Sweden. From the beginning, Telia Connect will include two mobile offerings for companies. The first package includes a PC card, software, mobile data subscription and GPRS traffic corresponding to 25 MB/month. Users gain access, for example, to Telia's wireless mobile broadband service (Telia Homerun), which allows them to connect at 3,500 hot spots in Europe, of which more than 450 in Sweden. The second mobile package for companies includes a mobile phone (Nokia 6650), software and mobile subscription for companies. Telia Connect is a joint Nordic product development initiative within TeliaSonera. An equivalent service will be launched in Finland under the brand Sonera Connect at the same time as Telia Connect is introduced in Sweden. The connection software can be downloaded free of charge at www.telia.se/foretag For further information journalists can contact: Maria Stråhle, Press Manager, Business Segment, TeliaSonera Sweden, Phone +46 8 713 58 30 TeliaSonera is the leading telecommunications company in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
