Telia offers Internet and e-mail with your cappuccino

Wayne’s Coffee and Telia are now introducing the HomeRun wireless Internet service at cafés by installing hot spots in basically all of Wayne’s Coffee cafés in Sweden. At the same time, a brand-new offer has been developed to suit the needs of café guests: a 2 x 15 minute wireless surf card that works exclusively at Wayne’s Coffee cafés.

The collaboration with Wayne’s Coffee is attractive to Telia from two perspectives. First, it broadens the base for HomeRun and enables Telia to offer a product that is perfect for use during café visits. Second, the co-operation with Wayne’s Coffee also gives a new HomeRun customer category the possibility to connect from convenient, comfortable and visible surfing zones in central areas of Swedish cities and towns. Wayne’s Coffee knows that there is a strong interest for this type of service, not least among journalists and other professionals who are on the move and need to check their e-mail or stay in touch with corporate intranets and Internet services. T-mobile and Starbucks are a comparable service in the United States that has been very much appreciated and received a lot of publicity. Telia HomeRun and Wayne’s Coffee are collaborating in the same manner. “An increasing percentage of customers want Internet connectivity while they eat or drink coffee. This is a trend that is becoming more and more apparent today. Being able to connect easily and check your e-mail, when you have some spare time, will be appreciated by our customers,” says Per Grankvist, marketing manager for Wayne’s Coffee. The 2 x 15 minute card is a subscription in the form of a scratch card with a user name and password. The connection works for 15 minutes, starting from the first time the user logs onto HomeRun. The card costs SEK 45. The second 15-minute session on the card can be saved for later occasions but can only be used at Wayne’s Coffee cafés. The hot spots at the cafés can also be used by customers who purchase HomeRun’s 24-hour card, or who subscribe to the HomeRun wireless service. Wayne’s Coffee cafés are available at 45 locations in Sweden. The first cafés to be equipped with Telia HomeRun are located in Gävle, Halmstad, Helsingborg, Södertälje, Umeå, Uppsala, Västerås, Göteborg and Sundsvall, and at seven cafés in Stockholm. During the spring, Telia HomeRun will also be installed at Wayne’s Coffee cafés in Karlskrona, Karlstad, Luleå, Skellefteå, Norrköping, Västerås and Malmö, and at several more cafés in Stockholm.
