Telia to offer free MMS during weekends

Telia to offer free MMS during weekends Starting February 20, Telia will offer free MMS service during the weekends. As of this date, Telia's mobile subscribers will be able to send MMS messages free of charge on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Free MMS messages can be sent starting at midnight Thursday until midnight Sunday, for a 72-hour period. The offer is valid for consumer and corporate subscribers and for all Telia mobile subscription s, including Telia Refill prepaid card customers. During all other times of the week, MMS messages cost SEK 3.80 each. The free weekend MMS offer is valid through May 2, 2004. MMS, a further development of the popular short message service (SMS), allows mobile users to enhance their messages in a more personal way. An MMS message can contain images, sound and text, which can be combined in different ways, as the user wants. MMS messages can contain up to 100 kB of information. An MMS-enabled mobile handset, on which MMS settings have been downloaded, is required to send and receive MMS messages. For further information journalists can contact: Hans G.
