TeliaSonera assumes total responsibility for ABB’s telephony

ABB vests TeliaSonera with total responsibility for its telephone services in Sweden. The term of the agreement is three years and its value approximately SEK 150 million. The agreement includes upgrading the technical platform, operation, maintenance and support. ABB has also chosen TeliaSonera as its preferred supplier of mobile telephony in the Nordic and Baltic countries.

As the first step, TeliaSonera takes over the existing communications platform and service function for telephone support. Next, the telephony of ABB will migrate to a new platform that supports increased mobility. Of the 8,600 connections, most of the existing 6,100 mobile subscriptions will be connected to a common PBX with its associated systems including a directory, announcements and voice-controlled switching. This provides ABB employees with increased flexibility and better availability for customers while the company makes efficiency gains. “ABB wanted to simplify its supplier and customer contacts and to have a supplier that assumes overall responsibility for the company's telephony and provides a quality service.
