TeliaSonera increases young people's influence on service development TeliaSonera has decided to form an international Youth Council comprising customers in the age group 16-25 from the countries where TeliaSonera has operations - initially Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Lithuania. The object of the Youth Council is to ensure that the views and ideas of young people are incorporated into the development of present and future services and customer care. TeliaSonera see young people as an important target group because they are already the most significant users of modern communication tools such as SMS, MMS and broadband services. Young people are also quick and innovative in exploring new areas for using these services. "The Youth Council is one of several ongoing activities at TeliaSonera with the purpose of guiding us in our work to develop services that young customers really want. We see this as one component in our strategic focus to involve customers early on in the service development. This is one example where we can proactively develop services which are easy to understand, easy to buy and easy to use," says Anders Igel, CEO and President of TeliaSonera. TeliaSonera's international Youth Council will meet twice a year and the first meeting will take place this summer. The young people will be invited to a round-table discussion where, together with Anders Igel and a number of TeliaSonera's younger co-workers, they will be given a unique opportunity to discuss TeliaSonera's services as well as how the company's customer care and support could be improved. "It is our ambition to, over time, be able to offer similar services in all the markets where we have a strong presence. The initiative to involve young people from several countries is an additional way of ensuring that our product development is not restricted to the needs of individual countries. I am convinced that the views that the Youth Council will provide will be of great value to us in our development work," says Anders Igel.
